 Laurens B. Fish, Jr.
|
Laurens B. Fish, Jr. graduated from Lamar High School in Houston. Received a Bachelors degree in Business Administration from the University of Texas. Graduated from the Commonwealth College of Sciences with a degree in Funeral Directing and Embalming. He is past Board member and Secretary/Treasurer of National Selected Morticians. He is a member of the Downtown Rotary Club of Austin and a member of The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd. He has been a Partner with Weed-Corley Fish for over 35 years. He is married to the former Julia Corley and they have two children and 5 grandchildren. His son is Laurens B. Fish, III who is the General Partner of Fish Funeral Services, the parent company of Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Homes and Cremation Services.

Laurens B. Fish III was born and raised in Austin, Texas. He is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin High School and The University of Texas with a Bachelors Degree in Economics. Laurens attended Mortuary School and received his degree from the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service. Laurens is a member of the Rotary Club of Austin, The Dell Children's Medical Center Council, the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, Board Member for the Central Texas Better Business Bureau and was a Board Member of the Texas Funeral Service Commission of which he was appointed the Chairman by Governor Perry. He is married to wife Melanie and they have nine year-old boy/girl twins Lawson and Merritt and a three year old daughter May. As a fourth generation funeral director, he follows in the footsteps of his father, Laurens Fish Jr., grandfather, Jack Corley, and great-grandfather John Roberts Corley. Laurens is the managing partner of Fish Funeral Services Ltd., parent company of Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Homes and Fish Family Cremation Services, continuing a long line of family ownership which started in the Austin community in 1886.

 Darryl Thompson
|
Darryl began his career in the funeral industry in 1978. He has been with Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home since August 1981 and is the General Manager of Fish Funeral Services. He graduated from Water Valley High School, attended Angelo State University, and graduated from Dallas Institute of Funeral Service in 1981. Darryl is married and has two children and one granddaughter. He is a member of the Methodist Church.

Kenneth has been with Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home since 1982 and in funeral service since 1971. Kenneth graduated from Giddings High School, attended Austin Community College and The University of Texas and received his funeral service training at The Commonwealth College of Sciences in Houston. He is married and has three grown children and one grandson.

 David Orton
|
David started his career in funeral service in 1965. He joined Weed-Corley-Fish South in 1992 and moved to Weed-Corley-Fish North in 2004. David is a native Austinite having attended Fulmore Jr. High and William B. Travis High School and is a graduate of Dallas Institute Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science. He is a U.S. Navy veteran a member of the Baptist Church and Hill City Lodge 456, AF & AM. He has six daughters and thirteen grandchildren. David and his wife Mary enjoy taking care of their three little dogs, traveling and spending time with family.

Linda has been with Weed-Corley-Fish North since May of 2003. She has been a funeral director in the Austin area since 1992. She is a graduate of Westwood High School and she received her Associates Degree in Mortuary Science from the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service. Linda and her husband Chad live in Round Rock with their son Cole. She enjoys family "gatherings" at her home and watching football with friends.

 Mitzi Chafetz
|
Mitzi is a third generation Texan. She attended college at the University of Houston and the University of Texas in Austin. Mitzi holds a Bachelor of Science degree and funeral directors and embalmers licenses. She began her funeral service profession as Public Information Officer and Continuing Education Coordinator for the Texas Funeral Service Commission. She is married to Nelson and has two grown daughters and a grandson. Mitzi enjoys theater and the arts and is a life member of Hadassah.

Ernest “Ernie” Pease graduated from Kansas State University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology, with an emphasis on thanatology, and earned a doctorate at Washburn University. He received his training as a funeral director and embalmer at the Worsham College of Mortuary Science, including technical training at the world renowned Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office in Chicago.
After managing and supervising a number of funeral homes and cemeteries for a large corporate funeral provider, Ernie was delighted to join the family owned Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Homes & Cremation Services in 2008. Ernie feels it is a special honor to serve each family during one of the most difficult times of their lives.
Ernie and his wife, Carol, reside in Leander. They enjoy volunteering for Travis County Search and Rescue, and will spend considerable time the next several years raising and training their German Shepherd for wilderness search and rescue certification. To do his part for the environment, Ernie commutes as much as possible on CapMetro.

 Briana Ballenger
|
Briana Lynn Ballenger was born in Del Rio, Texas and is a fourth generation funeral director. She attended college in San Antonio at the University of Incarnate Word and graduated from San Antonio College with a degree in Mortuary Science. A native Texan, Briana has served as a funeral director in central Texas for over 10 years. She was proud to join the team at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home in the spring of 2009. Briana and her husband Randy, have a precious little girl, Isabella that is their pride and joy. In her spare time she enjoys making crafts, cooking and spending time with her family and pets.

Henry is the senior pastor of the Galilee Missionary Baptist Church. He began working in funeral service in Taylor, TX at the age of 12. Henry graduated from Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service with honors and distinction. Henry is married to Velma and they have four children and one grandson. In his spare time he enjoys playing the organ, hunting, fishing and a good game of dominoes.

John has been a member of our staff since August of 2002, having retired both from the USAF and the State of Texas. He and his wife have lived in Austin since 1989 and have four children. John holds an undergraduate degree in business administration and a graduate degree in education. He graduated with highest honors in his studies leading to his funeral director license. He, his wife and children are long time members of Anderson Mill Baptist Church.

Paul has been with Weed-Corley-Fish South since 1998. A second generation funeral director he has been licensed since 1980 and a resident of south Austin since 1984. Paul attended Southwest Missouri State University and received his funeral service training at Dallas Institute of Funeral Service. Paul has a son and a daughter, is a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.

Rene is a graduate from Dallas Institute of Funeral Service. He has been in the funeral industry for 19 years serving families in Austin and Central Texas for over 16 years. Rene has been employed with Weed-Corley-Fish South since 1994. He and his family live in Plum Creek in Kyle, Texas. He is a member of the Catholic Church. Rene enjoys golfing, fishing and running. |

 Inger F. Olivo

Inger began her funeral service profession in 2000 working part time with Weed-Corley-Fish until her retirement from SBC in 2001. She is presently serving her profession at Weed-Corle-Fish South. A graduate of Milby High School in Houston, she attended San Jacinto Jr. College in Pasadena, Austin Community College, and received her associates degree in Mortuary Science with honors and distinction from Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service in May of 2002. She was a recipient of the Dr. George H. Poston Memorial Scholarship Award for exhibiting the highest proficiency in the courses of Embalming and Restorative Art. Inger is also a member of the National Funeral Service Honor Society. Inger is married and has two sons. They are members of the Baptist Church. She is a member of the South Texas Gospel Music Association and the Gideon International Auxiliary. She also sings with The Lighthouse Quartet of Austin.

Dean began his funeral service career in 1981 in San Angelo, TX. A graduate of Lake View High School there in 1978, he attended Angelo State University until 1981, graduated from Dallas Institute of Funeral Service in 1983 and attended the University of Texas at Austin. Dean rejoined the Fish Family funeral homes in 2007 after a seven year absence. Dean is married with three grown children and three grandchildren. He is a member of Christian Life Center in Austin. His joys include his family, church, golf, and woodworking. |

Mike graduated in 1979 from Cypress Junior College in Los Angeles, CA with a degree in Mortuary Science. He has worked as a funeral director in Hanford, CA; Harlingen, TX; Lubbock, TX; and owned his own funeral homes in Dimmitt and Olton, TX. He has worked as a funeral director in Austin since December 1999, joining the staff of Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home in March 2007. He is a native of Laurel, Delaware. He is married and has one son and one grand- daughter.

Dan joined the Weed-Corley-Fish family in 2006. He graduated from Worsham College of Mortuary Science in Chicago, Illinois in 1971 and has been in the funeral service industry for 36 years. He has had the honor of serving many families in Iowa, North Carolina and Texas during this time. He has three grown children, two sons and a daughter and one grandson.

Joe began his funeral career in 1987 and has been a licensed funeral director for over 14 years. Joe is a native Austinite having attended Fulmore Junior High and William B. Sandra is the Operations Manager for Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Homes and Cremation Services. She began working with Weed-Corley-Fish North in 1999. A "transplant Texan" she is a native of California, and has lived in Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. She is married, has two grown sons and is a member of the Catholic Church. She enjoys music, bowling and watching football.

Tracy has been with Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home since 2002. She is a recent graduate of Texas State University - San Marcos, with future plans of obtaining her masters in business. Tracy is an avid Texas football fan and enjoys spending time outdoors with friends and her adorable chocolate lab, Kori.

Pat has been with Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home since 2002. She has lived in Austin since 1985, and taught school for 33 years before retiring in 2002. She has two sons, and is a member of the Disciples of Christ Church.

She enjoys shopping, crafts and the Yankee Baseball Team. They are members of St. Ignatius Catholic Church.

Mark joined the Weed-Corley-Fish Family in 2002. He and his wife have three children, nine grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Mark is an active member of Manchaca United Methodist Church. He enjoys working in his yard, woodworking and photography.

Family Services Staff (Pre-planning)
John began his career in the Death Care industry at a very young age. He is second generation in the business, and his family still owns locations in Kentucky and Ohio. After over 15 years building sales and marketing organizations for independent and corporate firms, John left his family's business to start his own Funeral Preplanning and Management Consulting firm, with his wife Jennifer, also a 15 year industry veteran. John is currently the Director of Family Services for Fish Funeral Services, Ltd. He and Jennifer reside in Round Rock and attend the First Baptist Church, Pflugerville.

Jennifer joined Weed-Corley-Fish Family Services department in 2006 and serves as their administrative coordinator. After obtaining a degree in Psychology, Jennifer worked in the healthcare industry for over 15 years. She and her husband live in Austin and enjoy traveling and spending time with friends and family.

Dorothy joined Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home in January 2001 as a Family Service Advisor in the Pre-Arrangement Department. A graduate of the University of Oklahoma, she taught school in Houston before moving her family to Austin in August 1977. Before joining Weed-Corley-Fish her background was in real estate and insurance sales, holding her security dealers license. She is blessed with four children and four precious grandchildren. She is also a member of Gateway Community Church. |

Dina is a native Texan. She was born in Beeville and is a graduate of Texas A & I University in Kingsville. Upon graduation, she moved to Austin to teach second grade with the Austin Independent School District. She has been in Family Service since 1991. She is a proud parent of two sons, Manny and Joseph, who are attending college. She and her companion Michael Murphy, enjoy the arts, music and theatre and are avid travelers.

After many years in California working in marketing and PR for companies such as Marriott International, The Walt Disney Company and Crown Bookstores, Leanne has joyfully returned to her home state of Texas. Leanne married Dennis (her Desert Storm pen pal) in 1993 and together they love their amazing son Connor. Interests include creating beautiful home decor for Dazzling Melange, a small company she started a few years ago. Also, she and her family enjoy travel, reading, golf, watersports, antiquing, tennis, skiing and large family events---especially during the holidays. "As a Family Services Advisor, I help people realize the benefits of being prepared. Not only does it give families peace of mind, it is also a very wise financial step to take."
